There are many cool tools in the makerspace, but to use the tools and equipment, there are special things you need to do to be safe!

First is the panel saw. The panel saw needs to be turned on using the yellow switch by being turned clockwise. Then, slowly push the blade down through the wood until the blade has completely gone through the wood. Make sure you use goggles and make sure that no loose hair or clothing are out. Also, make sure nobody is in the kickback zone.

Next is the stop saw. The stop saw is a very useful tool but you need to know how to use it! First make sure that no hair or clothes are out. Make sure nobody is in the kickback zone. Be careful and do not place your hand close to the saw and make sure your wood lines up and always touches the ruler to get the best cut! To use the stop saw, pull the red button to start the stop saw and slowly push the wood through until the wood has been fully cut. After the wood has been fully cut, make sure to push to red button to stop the stop saw.

Also, we have the very important dust collector. The dust collector is primarily used to collect dust to make sure it is easy to breath in the Makerspace and also so that nobody can inhale dust. It is very important for the safety of all people. To use the dust collection push the on button to start.

The Rayjet Vinyl printer is one of the coolest things in the Makerspace. It is used to print ink and cut lines out of your material of choice. When making a design it is best to use a logo, as that makes the easiest and best cut! Make sure not to mess with anything with the vinyl printer and you should be safe. It is very hard to hurt yourself using the vinyl printer! To use you must put your material inside of the vinyl printer, and then press print, make sure the settings are correct for whatever you were printing on, and wait until it is finished.

Another super cool and effective tool in the makerspace is the miter saw. This tool is more dangerous than many of the other tools in the Makerspace. Make sure you use this safely. Firstly, make sure nobody is in the kickback zone. Never cut straight on the edge because that will make the wood fly out and could be dangerous. Also, make sure to hold the wood with your hand, but make sure your hand is not very close to the miter saw. Make sure you have no loose clothes or hair hanging out. If you follow all of those directions you should be ready to use the miter saw! To use, make sure to cut on the ¨scrap side¨, and push the red button on the handle to start the miter saw and slowly cut through your wood, after you have cut through your wood let go of the button on the handle and the miter saw will turn off.

The Nail Gun is a very important tool to help keep the wood into place. The Nail Gun is a very efficient tool, but is more dangerous than the rest of the tools in the Makerspace. Make sure you use the nail gun with care. Some ways to stay safe are firstly to never put your hand behind the wood where you are placing the nail in. Also, make sure nobody is in front of you so that you do not hit anybody with a nail from the nail gun. Staple into the wood and not up or down into the table. If you follow all of those rules you should be safe and ready to use the nail gun! To use the nail gun, make sure to get eye level with the wood, then compress the nail gun onto the two pieces of wood, and once compressed push the button on your hand and the nail should go into your wood!

The Band saw is a very cool tools in the Makerspace. Make sure to be safe and do not put your hands near the blade. Too use make sure that you press the green on button, push the wood through, and once finished press the red off button!
All of the tools in the makerspace are very cool, but are needed to be treated with care and be operated safely. If you are safe and learn the proper way to use all the tools in the Makerspace, I promise you that the Makerspace will be your favorite place in the school!
